Abstract:
ethyl benzoate was synthesized by microwave irradiation using SnCl4 · 5H2O as catalyst. The results show that the method has the advantages of simple operation, fast reaction speed, high esterification rate and environmental friendliness. When the microwave power was 288W, the irradiation time was 5 min, the molar ratio of alcohol to acid was 4:1, and the amount of catalyst was 1.2g, the esterification rate was 97.2%.

PHENYLETHYL BENZOATE - Introduction
FEMA 2860, chemical formula C14H12O2, is an organic compound commonly used as an ingredient in fragrances and fragrances.
The compound is a colorless liquid with a unique aromatic odor. It is soluble in alcohols, ethers and organic solvents, but insoluble in water. FEMA 2860 are highly volatile and stable.
This ester substance is commonly used in the preparation of perfumes and fragrances, and is used as a perfuming and flavoring agent. It can also be used in certain cosmetics, detergents and cleaners to give the product a pleasant fragrance effect.
The preparation method of FEMA 2860 generally adopts ester exchange reaction. Usually, benzoic acid and 2-phenylethyl alcohol are used as raw materials and an esterification reaction is carried out in the presence of an acidic catalyst to obtain the target product.
For safety information, FEMA 2860 is a low-toxicity chemical. However, like any chemical substance, it should be handled and used correctly. When in use, follow safe practices, such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. At the same time, care should be taken to prevent contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract. In case of contact or accidental ingestion, wash or seek medical treatment immediately.
